About the Exhibit

Art Galore celebrates traditional Indian art forms with deep roots in mythology, nature, and storytelling. The exhibit features paintings in four distinct styles:

• Midnapur Patachitra – narrative scroll art from West Bengal
• Kalighat – bold, expressive scenes from 19th-century Kolkata
• Tikuli – intricate enamel-like work from Bihar, often centered on festivals and women
• Gond – colorful, nature-inspired paintings from Central India’s Gond tribal communities

Each piece in the collection was created by rural artists in India, whose work is often passed down through generations but remains under-recognized on the global stage.

About the Curator

Swati Biswas is a dancer, curator, and founder of Artsy Way of Life, a platform that bridges folk traditions with contemporary audiences through virtual workshops, educational programs, and traveling exhibits. A passionate cultural advocate, Biswas works directly with Indian artists to spotlight their craft and preserve endangered visual languages.

The exhibit is available to view during studio hours through August 23rd:

• Monday & Tuesday: 10 AM – 6 PM
• Wednesday & Thursday: 10 AM – 8 PM
• Friday & Saturday: 10 AM – 2 PM
