DESCRIPTION:We’re thrilled to announce that Art Galore\, curated by Swati Biswas of @artsywayoflife\, will remain on view through Saturday\, August 23rd! If you haven’t had a chance to explore this vibrant collection of Indian folk art — or want to visit again — now’s your chance. \nAbout the Exhibit\nArt Galore celebrates traditional Indian art forms with deep roots in mythology\, nature\, and storytelling. The exhibit features paintings in four distinct styles: \n\nMidnapur Patachitra – narrative scroll art from West Bengal\nKalighat – bold\, expressive scenes from 19th-century Kolkata\nTikuli – intricate enamel-like work from Bihar\, often centered on festivals and women\nGond – colorful\, nature-inspired paintings from Central India’s Gond tribal communities\n\nEach piece in the collection was created by rural artists in India\, whose work is often passed down through generations but remains under-recognized on the global stage. \nAbout the Curator\nSwati Biswas is a dancer\, curator\, and founder of Artsy Way of Life\, a platform that bridges folk traditions with contemporary audiences through virtual workshops\, educational programs\, and traveling exhibits. DESCRIPTION:Art Galore by Swati Biswas | Opening Reception \nJune 18th\, 2025 | 6:30 – 8:00 PM | EventThem Studios\nJoin us for the Opening Reception of Art Galore\, a new exhibition of traditional Indian folk art curated by Swati Biswas\, founder of Artsy Way of Life. The exhibit features striking works in Midnapur Patachitra\, Kalighat painting\, Tikuli art\, and Gond art — each rooted in centuries-old storytelling practices and techniques passed down through generations. \nArt Galore showcases the work of rural Indian artists whose visual traditions center on themes of nature\, mythology\, and community. Swati Biswas\, a trained classical dancer and cultural advocate\, has spent the past several years curating cross-cultural art experiences through video-based and live workshops that connect Indian artists with audiences in Greater Boston and beyond. \nHer platform\, Artsy Way of Life\, emerged during the pandemic as a way to support folk artists with limited access to technology or institutional support.
